A collection of moths trying to cosplay a human interdisciplinary artist. MedSci escapee, always drawing, in my chaos-bisexual-enby-hag era. Paintmaker. Moth, disability, & art-related sh*t-posting. https://linktr.ee/lycomorpha & lycomorpha.etsy.com

I know I shouldn't assign personality to these things, but I can't help it.

Like. The Read Aloud browser extension sounds genuinely like a deeply anxious middle class mum to me.

(And seriously, the absolute state of pretty much everywhere, fair enuf, TBH. My anxiety disorder has anxiety now.)

The benefit of hanging out having a potato day with me is that periodically you hear things like this read in aggressively cheerful screen-reader voice...
your dead AI mother loves you so much ❤️

…So I tried to capture the texture of moth wing scales & the speckled-ness of their colours using granulating pigments.

& I tried to include a mix of brightly coloured moths and more subtle, camouflage species.

Like the scalloped oak and nut-tree tussock (which is basically a tiny flying kitten)…

...& It was way trickier than I thought, TBH!

I was trying to catch something of the colours & textures & fuzziness of species that visit my garden. But when you love moths? It's hard to feel anything you make is a good enuf representation!

Also, no species is really one single colour…
