Xana, a brown-furred, anthro bear-croc man with scaly hands and a big crocodile-tail, has been granted their darkest eldritch desire to grow into a massive, planet-gobbling, radioactive kaiju! He's swimming through space, and headed straight for the next snack. The background is one of NASA's public domain photos of a nebula, and in the foreground is the "snack"...

A planet hovers before the beast, bathed in the green balefire glow emanating from Xana's slavering maw and right eye. His head is nearly as big as the roundel, same as the bulging arms reaching out to snatch up the orb with black-clawed, reptilian hands. Each pumped-up pec, however, is considerably larger. Though all that combined mass is utterly dwarfed by their furry brown belly, stuffed taut with countless other unlucky celestial bodies.

The gargantuan, bloated orb is so enormous as to obscure the rest of the beast's form, save for the two titanic mounds of Xana's Brobdingnagian buttocks, the trail of lengthening spikes framing his spine, and and continuing down the thick, scaly tail's length (so long in fact that the end blurs as it trails into the distance).

Suddenly the sky looks like it has that sepia filter from Fallout 3 to the people on the planet's surface, and everyone's hair is falling out. This satellite photo clearly shows that both Xana's spikiness and insatiable hunger are trending as he swells terrifyingly fast. The end is nigh. Smoke 'em if ya got 'em.

Text tags at the bottom say "Xanadeas by his player" and "image by Krafty 6.2014".

So, in other interesting discoveries, Kathy Ruemmler nicknamed Trump "McGuyver" because he reminded her of mannerisms in the TV character.

This led to some coded conversations between her and Epstein about Trump.

Today went to making pickles and salsa with the last of the year's tomatoes from our landlord's garden. The prettiest became dilly pickled tomato slices for one neighbor, and the rest went into sweet-corny chipotle salsa verde for everyone else. A jar of firecracker green beans sneaked in there too.

Ingredients:
- Gallon Jar (gasket not necessary, too salty for fermentation to occur)
- Filtered Water - no more than a liter
- CaCl - 1 tsp (keeps them from turning to mush)
- Badia Sazón Complete - 4 T
- Salt (Pickling, Kosher, or Sea) - 6 T (I used pickling salt)
- White vinegar - 2 T (plus some more to sterilize the jar)
- Mustard Seeds - 2 T
- Tellicherry Black Peppercorns - 2 T, whole
- Bay leaf (dry) - 3 dried leaves
- Dill (dry) - 1.5 T and/or Dill Seed - 3 T
- Garlic - 1 whole bulb, peeled, trimmed, & smash-smeared (mince as well for stronger flavor)
- Kirby cucumbers - 10-20 (quantity depends on their size (this batch had very thick cukes)

Process:
1. Clean the jar, and rinse it with distilled vinegar.
2. Add salt to jar with 2 T vinegar and enough water to dissolve it with some stirring.
3. Wash your cukes, and trim the tips off both ends.
4. Stand cukes in the brine at the bottom of the jar until you can't pack any more in against the jar's base.
5. Add all the bay leaves to the jar with half the garlic & other spices.
6. Pack remaining cukes into the jar.
7. Add the calcium chloride along with the rest of the garlic and spices.
8. Start adding filtered water. The goal is to cover the cukes, and still leave a little air in the jar (no more than an inch from the top). If it looks like the cukes are floating above the water line, add optional fermentation weight or grape leaves now. Another option is to simply rest the jar upside-down on its well-tightened lid.
9. Wipe rim, screw lid on tightly, and agitate the jar.
10. For 6-7 days leave the jar in a cool (preferably between 18°C-24°C/65°F-75°F) place with very low light and definitely no direct sunlight. It might even be fine if simply left in the fridge.
11. Slice into thin strips to imitate whole anchovy fillets. Dice or mince for salads, spreads, and other dishes (bagna càuda, focaccia, tapenade, etc.). Should probably be stored in the fridge.
