Exactly this. I do think there is a little bit of “we only care about the UK when there is royal drama” but there’s no reason that Dem insiders aren’t paying to this. Or they are, and they think they’re just built different
it is wild that Labour is doing exactly what the reactionary centrists recommend and is absolutely destroying its base of support as a result, and yet reactionary centrists in the US are just utterly silent about the complete failure of their program.

To be honest I’m pretty sure the “sincere“ eugenicists - i.e., people who are in favor of immigration from China or wherever - are simply racists whose fixation is specifically ANTI-BLACK RACISM instead of strict white supremacy
there are a few sincere eugenicists like Richard Hannania and they are meaningfully different than just garden-variety racists (no, this is not me saying "they're great! I love them! no problems!"). in theory it's an elitist but not necessarily racist mindset. in practice it like 90% is.

I try to follow UK politics because, during DJT 1, I became interested in their Brexit saga, and Labour under Corbyn, and the Grenfell tragedy, and the Windrush scandal also. I’m sure there are substantial differences, but Labour seems to be in the same boat as the Democratic Party
Labour’s not very well concealed plan to “end the culture war” was to simply concede to the vicious, wacko wingnuts right across the board. How would we say that plan has gone, lads? Has it succeeded brilliantly, are we all pals again now you’ve been pandering to the fuckers for years.
