It’s wild in this case because we mostly just import used cooking oil from China for biofuels, and that has only happened the last few years because Biden’s IRA threw in biofuel incentives to help rural areas and red states.

There is a No Kings rally on the 18th in Ocala, Florida on the town square from 9-11am. Then from 11-3 there is an open carry celebration in the same spot. I don’t know who thought this was a good idea.

At a press conference today, the mayor of Everett said there was a knife found in the child’s possession but *no* gun. I followed up with ICE and asked if they stand by the screenshot shared yesterday. Spokesperson said DHS was working on a response. Five hours later, still nothing.

Today following outreach from @thejusticedept, Facebook removed a large group page that was being used to dox and target @ICEgov agents in Chicago.
The wave of violence against ICE has been driven by online apps and social media campaigns designed to put ICE officers at risk just for doing their jobs. The Department of Justice will continue engaging tech companies to eliminate platforms where radicals can incite imminent violence against federal law enforcement.

For Indigenous People's Day, here's a spear/arrow point from the Mojave Desert. The kind of photography I do means I spend a lot of time staring at the ground, so a stone that didn't quite match stood out. You can see where it's been knapped; the people who lived here historically were the Nuwä.
