I do watercolor and gouache #SciArt, and occasional commissions. Here's a few of my favorites! An illustration of a tibia fusus shell, a Greater Yellowlegs bird on toned paper, photorealistic renderings of Silvery Blue butterflies, and a pigment-test sketch that turned into a lovely stormy sky.

If you're donating food, please think about folks with no way to heat things. Instant oatmeal, dry soup, and ramen/cup o noodles are inedible without *hot water*. If you live outside or in a car - that's hard to come by. Lots of food-pantry staples are off limits to folks with no kitchen access!
Most people don’t know that with SNAP you are banned from buying “foods that are hot at the point of sale”. So even if you have SNAP (which people don’t now) you can’t get cooked food. Which means you need to also actually have the resources to PREPARE a “healthy” meal.
Thinking about the social stigma against eating fast food in a country where poor people are being starved by the govt, the cost of groceries and fresh vegetables are astronomical, and a cheeseburger at McDonald’s costs $3.50.

My thoughts are with the victims of today's UPS plane crash, but they are also with the NTSB investigators who, tomorrow, will dig through half a mile of toxic debris to find the black boxes, all without being paid. Godspeed to them as well.

Anyone need a spooky nature story for Halloween? It all happened this summer…
I was on the beach at midnight. It wasn’t actually raining but with so much heavy mist in the air it might as well have been. And it was dark as could be by the bay. I was just out for a walk before bed.

So I put a pizza in the oven. After a while, I think "man, I swear its been 15 mins" but never heard the timer. I forget about it for 10 more mins. "Oh shit! Did I not set a timer?" I run to the kitchen expecting a burned pizza to find...I never put it in. My oven has just been on for like 40 mins.
