If had to sum up my life philosophy, what I hoped to achieve or what drives me, it would be to hang out with cool people and work on stuff that interests me. Like, that’s it. That’s all. And sadly you have to be kind of well off to do that, which is kinda wild, really.

Man, the "smartest" people in the world sure are dumb. Social media really burst that millennia long illusion of success = merit. Even a cynic like me is surprised at how dumb they are behind closed doors. The world is really run by smart assistants and clerks, same as it ever was.

Now that I've learned about this three-cueing reading thing, I'm starting to really understand why some younger folk struggle with text/subtext issues as this was rif on a Johnny Cash lyric in ref to a Johnny Cash article

The main Stanley Kubrick conspiracy theory is he faked the moon landing, but the more viable one is that Eyes Wide Shut was trying to soft divulge that the ultra wealthy are all in pedophile clubs

I just read through what three-cueing is and it makes a ton of sense now why so many people see LLMs as “thinking”; it’s similar to the probabilistic process by which they were trained and they know that they’re thinking beings, therefore…
uhhh this actually reminds me a lot of how LLMs function at a basic level too - predicting tokens based on proximity & context, etc 😬 ...so we're teaching kids to read like AI & saying AI level is good enough

One benefit of being bi was that in chat room days when a “woman” I was cybering would admit I they were a man I would just say, “That’s cool. Want to keep going?” And a few said were surprised and said it made them feel accepted, so I got that going for me, I guess.
