I am once again honored to represent you, my fellow Montanans, in your state government, and am thankful for your ongoing support, thoughts, and neighborliness.

"Depends on who you ask" framing is one of the most grating tics in modern political journalism. Objective reality exists and your job is to describe it.

A classic case of irresponsible both-sidesism from the NYT. The story is that Trump and MAGA propagandists are lying about Portland to incite a conflict, not that there are different views of the matter.

Should the New York Times be sold to Pennysaver and its editors sent to work in Amazon warehouses? It depends on who you ask.

Trump: "I also did a cognitive exam. Which is always very risky because if I didn't do well, you'd be the first to be blaring it and I had a perfect score. And one of the doctors said he's almost never seen a perfect score. I had a perfect score. That made me well good ... not the easiest test."

you'd think a prominent news outlet like the New York Times might mention that "antifa" isn't an actual organization in a long story about antifa, but nope!

and the subhead helps props up a false claim this professor was up to something seedy as something up for debate
NYT headline: "Rutgers Expert on Antifa Tries to Flee to Spain After Death Threats"

subheadline: "Mark Bray was teaching courses on antifascism. Turning Point USA accused him of belonging to antifa, which he denies. His flight to Spain was canceled abruptly on Wednesday night."

Incredible.

Jack Posobiec references the earliest version of antifa -- the anti-fascists in the Weimar Republic who were opposed to the Nazi Party -- as the bad guys.

Republicans waged a successful 50 year war on U.S. journalism to make it more compliant to right wing ideology (under the pretense of "curing liberal bias" no less)

their bullying of NPR has been particularly effective

as if Trumpism actually wants to provide any sort of care for these folks

President Trump is bucking tradition and legal precedent in pushing to deploy the National Guard to Democratic-led cities like Portland, Oregon, and Chicago due to what he says is rampant crime and to support his crackdown on illegal immigration.

The recipe for a good social media app isn't hard if you understand that people simply yearn to read and write sentences without angry guys yelling slurs at them

Here's some more about the Trump FCC's decision on Monday to kill two popular programs that helped bring free Wi-Fi to poor rural school kids (at no additional cost to taxpayers):

When you see how excited Trump, Russ Vought, and Republicans are about the government shutdown, it becomes pretty obvious the reason why they refused to negotiate a compromise with Democrats is because they wanted this and they completely own this, regardless of their lies.

this is the kind of well-implemented government backed "abundance" Ezra Klein pretended to be looking for but didn't research long enough to find

STEPHANOPOULOS: The Democratic proposal is designed to prevent millions of Americans from losing their health insurance, losing Medicaid coverage, or paying higher healthcare premiums. Why are you against that?

MIKE JOHNSON: That's an absurd statement

Exactly, the Dems' "condescension problem" is almost entirely a creation of right-wing media.
nostradamnus.bsky.social
Honestly think the only way to solve the condescension problem is to stop insisting that we have one. It's very obvious why your opponent would call you condescending for being smart and right; stand up for yourself!

Klein is also obsessed with solving Democrats’ “condescension problem” but it’s not condescending to talk about how your political opponents are wrong! That’s kind of how it works.

Ezra Klein has been speaking a lot on red states and rural Democrats and here’s the thing…he shouldn’t.

He has no idea what he’s talking about.
