Celeste was keeping it rolling by offering to match up to $500 in donations a to food banks. Now her matching (like mine) has all been used but there are more donations in this thread waiting for volunteers to match them. Let’s keep it going, team!

NWS is almost worthless anymore.
R has been looking at El Nino/Nina patterns. He believes NWS is off on the wrong side. 🤷‍♀️

NM stepping up again. Showing others how it can be done.

NM also has free breakfast and lunch at public schools, and free childcare. NM is a state with a lot of poverty, yet they show an example of charity and good every day.

mmmm Sounds yum.
I keep looking around for a place to install a stove of some type. We have put some much into the ac/hv and mini split installs though. No way I could keep the house that cool. R would hate it. Tho we lived on the mtn, he is spoiled now.

struggling a bit with how I feel about the upcoming surgery. And that makes me read all about it. Yesterday I looked up ways to get in and out of the car. I Do Not want to end up on the damn driveway and not be able to get up. haha

Slept in a bit, as the men went off to the farm to Hopefully finish the coop work.
Had to turn the furnace on for a little bit. The house was pretty chilly this morning.
Not sure what I am going to do. Garden for sure, health check on my chickens, and maybe cookie dough to freeze for later.

SNAP kept us from being hungry. It kept my babies from ever knowing what that means.

Back then, I always felt like we got too much to use every month. But I would bulk shop and make huge meals and help to feed neighbors and friends who also were struggling. About a year later we had better jobs,

Story Time and Why I am so Emotional about SNAP

Early 1988 I gave birth to my 2nd and last child. Spouse had called his employer to tell them I was in labor and they told to stay at home for a couple days and enjoy the new baby. The day after the child was born my Spouse was fired. Just flat out.
