John Varley’s “Steel Beach” is such a wonderful homage to Heinlein. I still love Varley’s writing. Reminds me of the Heinlein I grew up on, but next-gen creativity. I devoured the “Titan-Wizard-Demon” trilogy, and “The Golden Globe” is a hoot and a half.

New curtains are sage green velvet. I still need to steam out the wrinkles, but the color is perfect. This is duvet:

I have a great dentist, and the hygienist doesn’t scold me for not flossing. I have a new secret weapon though—in my dad’s old medical supplies that I kept, I found a dental scaler. For some reason, sticking that curvy steel thing between my teeth is way more fun than flossing.

Slept in this morning, now lounging with large cat in lap. Loving the chilly air, windows open all the time. Finally found curtains to go with new duvet, after hours shopping online/around town. Now I want to repaint my bedroom, which is going to be a big project. I used to love interior painting.

Originally from Nebraska, then 8 years in Tempe, AZ beginning to outgrow Midwestern brain. I moved to Corvallis in 1990, PDX in 2008. When I got to Oregon, I finally felt like I belonged.

Have been in NM 10 years now, in many ways similar acceptance of divine weirdness. I miss Oregon, though.
