it makes me so mad that when you see a reel with a comedy song in it now 99% of the time it's AI generated rather than someone actually...you know...singing it. memes and jokes lose so much when they're this sleek generated slop instead of the result of an unhinged mind making an idea come to life.

They're not hiding it, folks—straight up neo-Nazi advertising, from the font to the language to the 11 stars for the Confederacy. Then you have the DHS openly using white nationalist language of "remigrate", which means ethnic cleansing.

This is who MAGA is now.

The bots obstruct sidewalks and hinder accessibility.

“Surveillance is another concern. Each Coco robot has five cameras that are constantly on and recording ‘vast amounts of data every day from...full 360-degree perception…’”
Hundreds of Chicago residents sign petition to pause robot delivery pilot program over safety concerns
There is a growing call for the City Council to hold a public hearing on the pilot program and publish accessibility data

It's the first Sunday of Advent and BBC Radio3 is broadcasting a twelve-hour marathon of Carols Across the Country, and I could almost cry from having the seasonal spirit quite miraculously awakened. Something I didn't expect in view of just about everything. 🥲
From 2016, another piece featuring my favourite 'thing under tree' motif, 'White Hart.' Ink, 85 x 125 mm.

Trivia: the stag here combines features of both the red and fallow deer to suggest a mythological creature rather than a real animal.

I like this a lot.
This week The Local announced our AI policy, the core of which is pretty simple: “When you read The Local, know that our stories are written and edited by real people, that photographs are taken by real photographers, and that illustrations are created by real illustrators.” thelocal.to/ai-policy/

Let me give some insight on this, as a producer in the dub industry who worked with major streamers, who's witnessed first-hand where this push for AI is coming from.

tl;dr: Only CEOs want this. Tell them how much you hate it. Be loud, email, call, @, post. You will kill this.

🧵⬇️
The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

Watched the Cells at Work! movie yesterday. I was the subtitle editor on the Code Black season of the anime so it was neat to watch an adaptation that surprisingly incorporated parts of that season into the original show's plot. Good adaptation with fun tokusatsu moments. More thoughts on Letterboxd
