Just heard disappointing news that @warren.senate.gov will co-sponsor the Kids Online Safety Act again despite overwhelming opposition from LGBTQ, human rights, abortion rights, and racial justice groups.

This is a horrific betrayal of her constituents, particularly trans youth and their families.

I think other people have made this point, but: if college is just a vocational school -- if its sole purpose is to "prepare young people for jobs" -- then there's no point in college at all! Just create actual vocational schools.

Wow: Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention (named for Holocaust survivor Raphael Lemkin, who coined term "genocide") calls Clinton's remarks "genocide denial."

"Young people in the US are not stupid or gullible. They simply reject genocide – something the Secretary might consider doing as well."

Unhinged to describe the criticism of her journalistic ethics as a "freaksome lynching" when she has not denied any of the allegations and admits to most of them in her book.
Possibly the only thing more freakish than Nuzzi's prose is the contortions her defenders twist themselves into. "She's not just hot, but she definitely is hot, while also being a vulnerable smol child. Also, criticizing her is sexist."

It should also tell you that the US military does NOT fight for your freedom. Since the US military is there to establish order, uphold the oppressive capitalist system and serve the government and its elite.

Hence why the US military has put down every labor strike in the US.
You never stop hating America after you learn the history of Blair Mountain West Virginia.

Something a lot of people miss is that in many ways the pre Oct 2023 status quo rested upon the idea that the Palestinian question didn't need solving. Pretty much everyone thought Oslo had permanently rendered the Palestinians docile and that there no longer was a need for a political resolution.
Well the fence is illusory and will never work, that's why expulsionism is more popular than ever.

The practical effect of overturning Humphrey’s will be that Republican presidents can stack the formerly independent agencies with their copartisans and SCOTUS will be cool with everything they do but when a Dem POTUS does the same Roberts et al will declare all those agencies’ actions unlawful.
In a memo John Roberts wrote just 4 yrs out of law school, he said the “time may be ripe to reconsider the existence” of independent agencies & bring them back into the executive branch. Now he’s poised to end what he has long called “a constitutional anomaly.”

One cool thing about Originalism is that all the very standard ways historians have of trying to understand the meaning of old texts are ignored in favour of communing with the spirit of the author (who strangely always agrees with today’s right wing).
During ratification of the 14th Amendment, senators discussed whether the Citizenship Clause would apply to the children of immigrants and resoundingly concluded that it did. The text and history all point in one direction and the counter-arguments are patently fraudulent. I am going to lose my mind
The evidence is the text. All you have to do is read the Constitution.

The "major questions doctrine" is just something Supreme Court Justices made up to give themselves more power whenever they feel like it. No basis in law granting the Supreme Court majority additional ability to undo an act of Congress they disagree with because Justices say this one's a big deal.
