Ok - will bring up one specific I love and, this is something of a spoiler. Ok? Spoiler here.

In the last act this movie had a choice: embrace the ethics of Seargent Farrell, or embrace the ethics of Major West. Most movie makers would have chosen the Major. Danny Boyle chose the Seargent.

Showed the kid 28 Days Later today and it was even better than the last time I watched it. 5 star movie. I love it so much. I could probably do 10,000 word on all the ways it is great and interesting. Might be a top 3 all time horror movie for me? Hell, it might be the best. Its in the conversation.

Nothing works like this. There's a reason lie detectors are inadmissible bullshit machines.

But even if it did, those thermometers mentioned in the first sentence? They don't work properly on Black skin. Same with pulse oximeters: they don't work on melanin, either.

And any media person running with the idea AI maybe *could* let you fantasy cast and replace actors and actresses into your favourite movies “for real” is either too incapable of basic comprehension of ideas to be deserving of a job being paid to write words, or is a lying con artist on the take.

Of course, if you’re a soulless piece shit yourself who only thinks of the people you see on screen as an image and not as a human being whose countless choices, thoughts, experiences and interactions with is intrinsically wrapped up in what you, the audience, sees then maybe you don’t get that.

Not only that but no AI no matter how advanced can *ever* show you what some actor or actor would be like in a movie they never actually acted in. AI can’t know how they would have acted or felt or worked with their cast mates or interacted with the director.

I can’t tell you how incandescently angry it makes me to see media talk about AI fakery as if it were real. “Want to see [a real person] doing something [they didn’t do]?” Not only don’t I but all those who want to CAN’T because the person *never did it* it’s not real.

So much better than my own ad hoc attempt a few years ago to demonstrate to my kid that Shakespeare is only hard to understand when it is simply read (and poorly) but that when it is *performed* the meaning comes through. lol. Poor kid had to put up with a few one-man readings from me (not an actor)
