Even if you weren't concerned with the obvious labor exploitation at play here, if they won't pay for domestic staff at a restaurant, what else are they skimping on? Ingredients? Pest control? I know I wouldn't eat there.

I think we lost it in editing but I talked about that very thing. Real rural life is virtually invisible — no art for dollar stores and meth clinics. And its racial diversity is erased. Actual rural people, especially poor ones, cannot access its aesthetic power

Imo this is more about the real fact that the Indiana GOP already maximum gerrymandered the state and any further map messing risks losing them votes than about a principled stand against ableism
I remember when the Stop and Shop near me was hiring, they had ads saying the starting pay was $15/mo, like it was some amazing benefit and not minimum wage in the Commonwealth.

Out of principle, because he's been my fave for so long, I got Spider-man to Knight level in Marvel Rivals. I am terrible at him though, so it's been a grind. Thankfully the new 18v18 mode lets me hide how terrible I am.
