Everyone knows Bashir and Garak from DS9 are gay and right from the scene where they meet. But is there anything gayer than the reclusive spy who lies about everything asking his boyfriend to witness his mentor confess on his deathbed to being his father?
Anyway I'm watching DS9 again.
Anyway I'm watching DS9 again.

Hi, it's me, Bsky's biggest continuity wanker. I think Doctor Who is a single self-consistent story and get nervous when travel times between known destinations in Star Trek don't line up.
Are you dense? Do you think Casino Royale happened before Dr No? Who was Lazenby Bond calling "The other guy"?

James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

I don't really understand the challenge in writing the new Bond movie. It's a Bond movie. Open with 007 doing spy stuff and then having sex with a lady he has no chemistry with, then have him stumble dick first into a selection of plot points until the bad guys capture him at the end of act 2.

My theory that Americans don't really have good customer service, just hostage situations, has another data point.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.
They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.
If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."
🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.

Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

Can't believe we got a monsterfucker movie from- *Checks notes* -renowned monster-fuck movie director Guillermo del Toro
Reviewer: I know it's technically true to the book, but I'm not sure audiences are ready for a sexy Frankenstein's monster.
Me, a denizen of the monster-fucker internet: lol. lmao, even.

I should not have read someone's opinion on the writing in modern Star Trek on Reddit.
Apparently the problem is the writers are too young and have no experience of the world. No they don't know how a writer's room works, but they've already vomited their opinion onto the internet.

Gradually becoming less terrified of driving. I've stopped stalling the car. I only performed one illegal road manoeuvre. A man in a van screamed at me but as he was not an approaching junction I refused to perceive him.

Another round of chat about a fresh reboot movie for Star Trek.
Constant reboots suck the marrow out of what we love and leave no room for something new, but more than that studios are unwilling to accept that a show is more the people and the moment than it is the stories and the sets.

Hearing the "rule of cool" discourse is giving me the impression that what I thought that was, and the thing everyone is talking about, are two different things.

Memory Alpha, the Star Trek wiki, runs on the rule that if it is a hologram, illusion or copy of a character, then they count as a different character. Combine this with the fact that the Vorta are a clone species and you end up with this:

I think the tone of AI responses reveals a lot both about the personalities behind it and also the user base. That it regurgitates affirming, grindset adjacent babble so readily indicates the algorithms controlling it, supported by user feedback, see these responses as success states.
