Discoverability (/r/neovim or other sites) is a big part. If 100 different people have their own git flows and write their own plugins to adapt, at least a few might resonate with me and improve my workflows. Usually glancing through the Readme is enough to see if worth trying.
joshfinnis.bsky.social
Outside of my personal-notes taking setup I haven't written my own plugins much but I've tried tons of options, many of which have greatly improved my workflows. Some people use the term PDE (personal dev environment) as opposed to IDE. Enjoying tinkering with things is a big part.

Peak liberal ”resistance”. Spread around a picture calling Trump triumphant... wow got him! A few people laugh at his hair and much more people who weren't even aware of this cover now see he's "the leader Israel needs".

Whoa `z{count}<cr>` is cool, new to me as well.

"Full line completion" `i_<C-X><C-L>` is very useful to repeat lines like console.logs. All my notes are in Nvim and I find ad-hoc uses for this constantly.

I map all completions to <tab> (so `i_<tab>l`) in insert mode because I've never wanted to type a tab on purpose.

Splits resize when window size changes. Useful because I often have multiple splits alongside tmux panes (logs, test runner, etc) and resize those if they need more focus:

vim.api.nvim_create_autocmd('VimResized', {
command = 'wincmd =',
})

Other platforms are used too, like bitbucket, which doesn't let you configure this.

Writers should own up to this instead of pretending there's "nothing they can do". They throw up their name and credibility in exchange for someone else making up whatever headline fits their agenda. The headline will get 10000x the views as the author's actual text.

With Facebook and the like dropping $100s of million in salaries (apparently), I wonder how many tech influencers finding success have extra $reason$ to do so.

Infuriating...men are the default still

Remember that riddle a father and his son are in a car accident. The father dies at the scene and the son is rushed to the hospital. At the hospital the surgeon looks at the boy and says "I can't operate on this boy, he is my son." How can this be?

I discovered I was colorblind when I was in my 30s, and I took my kids to the eye doctor and they pulled out that book. Both of my boys failed miserably and I didn't understand it because I couldn't see anything they couldn't see! Doh.

I thought that boys get the colorblind gene from the mother because it sits on the X. And you just provided the Y

This doesn't make sense since colorblindness passes from mom not dad to boys as it comes from the X chromossome

If they're red green colorblind our wife's father must have been colourblind. You can't pass that gene.

That's odd, colorblindness is x linked, which means your wife's dad is also colorblind.

Colour blindness skips a generation, either you're lying or those ain't your boys.

If it makes you feel better it's the mother's line that carries the colorblindness defect.

Color blindness would usually be inherited by your boys if their mom was a carrier and the boy's maternal grandfather had it. It is x- linked so your boys could not usually inherit it from you if it is typical color blindness.

Are you a woman? The colorblind gene is on the X chromosome and since men only donate the Y, the boys must've gotten the colorblind gene from their mother.

My maternal grandfather is colorblind so my mom has X(colorblind) and x(noncolorblind) genes. My brother isn't colorblind and I am. 50% chance for each of บร

Is your wife color blind because it's only in the x chromosome or she is just a carrier. You don't contribute anything towards your boys for color vision. Unless they xxy. You don't give your sons a x chromosome, you

give the y.

It's actually infuriating. I have people telling me I must be lying, people suggesting my sons aren't really mine, people just smugly telling me I'm wrong because only Moms pass color

blindness...

Politics has been central to Elon Musk’s identity over much of the past year, but his latest obsession has faded into disenchantment over the personal costs and difficulties in producing results, said two people familiar with his thinking in recent months.

Meanwhile Elon Musk makes $8 million every single day from the government.

Climbing always made me enjoy using my problem solving skills from being an engineer. The route can always be solved but you have to try many different ways (debug) sometimes and sometimes you see someone else do it in a totally different way.
