man it is a really good thing this country makes lots of walls and bullets.
This has been made available, so for purposes of commenting on Bari Weiss's decision to spike the story, here's a live-post of that segment.

It begins with a "you may recall" summary of the deportation to el Salvador. Describes the admin's claim that it could deport the men without due process

One of the more important stock-taking moments to watch a bootlegged news program censored in your country.

in the US basically every car dealership has a large US flag on a flagpole on the property. went past one that was WAY bigger than the others and was confused, that can't be a car dealership, i thought. it was an rv dealership.

this is pretty much what happened to us poker players in 2011 when online poker was shut down and it was very cool seeing people make a bunch of weird shit cause they had nothing else to do
they didn't need AI to make Silksong, it just needed some deeply insane guys to have a blank check for living expenses until their next thing was done, I think we should try doing more of that instead

Sam Altman: hey I made a machine that stole literally all your stuff in order to make CSAM of your child actors, sometimes it encourages people to kill themselves

Disney: Holy shit here's a billion dollars

Altman: the machine loses more than that each week but thank you. Soon it will become god.

it is sort of unreal that we don't just all as a society agree to forget that luigi did anything. like, there are tv shows to watch or whatever. we all have better things to do than punish that guy for whatever it was he did or didn't do that i can't remember at this point.

i have made my slay the spire combat engine substantially worse by insisting that it needs an empty draw pile to play grand finale. i do feel a bit like the grinch.

slay the spire is 75% off on steam. good game if you missed it so far.

polisci is the field i imagine is most like if an american league of legends pro from 2010 was explaining what they thought the only possible way to play league of legends was to you.

liking women being queer-coded is a literal consequence of patriarchy. like if you put the things those concepts mean next to each other you get a + b = c.

something queer doesn't correspond to established gender ideas, the established gender idea of patriarchy is men > women.
"Haha, they think it's gay to like women!"

a) Kind of always has been

b) Understand the reactionary logic at play instead of dismissing it as silly, because it has more cache with young men than it should.

mad men does this thing where the characters mention how much they make/how much things cost all the time to make you think "oh that was a long time ago" and in like ten years that's how we're going to feel about the "how much could one banana cost?" arrested development moment.

as a person who has long considered posting rudely on the internet without proper punctuation to be much much more sincere than posting politely with correct punctuation, i feel extremely vindicated by the evolving llm situation we now find ourselves in.

as a person who "gambled" (played poker) professionally for a while, my elite advice on gambling is that you shouldn't do it. spend your time and energy on something else.

wonder if anyone has ever thought of analyzing a work like frankenstein. like, it might be about more than the monster frankenstein coming to life. what if it is about something hugely relevant to our lives, like llm's or grubhub.

it must be frustrating for all the people who worked doggedly to warn us all of the dangers of quicksand as children when we shrug it off like it isn't actually a big deal as adults. of course it feels like that. they were successful.
