i know we’re talking about the ACA but this was true for me and my bestfriend for ARPA. dv shelters were flush with cash for prob the first time ever. This meant i could flee with my dog and cat without a 10 month waitlist and traveling 300 miles. they covered a ~year of her and her kids rent.
My best friend was able to leave her abusive husband because the ACA made it possible for her to still get health insurance

So the US had a huge case using high-level informants. Bukele wanted back 9 informants who could expose his govt's deals with that same gang to lower the level of violence, fueling his image as a crime-fighter. That Rubio made a deal was known. That he reneged on informants was not.

To call it 'the most corrupt administration in US history' does not do it justice; that so understates the degree of corruption as to be almost false.

They have in fact instituted a new regime in which officeholders treat the public's thing—the republic—as their personal property...like kings do.

I haven't had the capacity to keep up with moderation lists for a bit, but this one is really obvious, so I'm stealing some energy from Future Me: a list for the extremely obvious wave of inauthentic accounts following today's newly-created US gov accounts

Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents.

I did it because the government isn’t.

This is what I found.

President Trump reduces trade surplus in profitable export industry that provides middle-class jobs all across America.
New federal data has revealed a 19% year-on-year decline in international students entering the US in August 2025, including a 45% drop from India, America’s largest sending country. thepienews.com/internationa...
International student arrivals to the US fall by 19%
The US recorded a 20% drop in student visa arrivals this August, though the full picture remains unclear amid contradictory datasets.

We can always find any important viewpoints elsewhere. We’re all perfectly capable of finding them on our own off of Bluesky. The idea that we need to be exposed to them here or by these people has always been ludicrous.
people who earnestly try to argue that blocking certain accounts deprives u of important opposing viewpoints are assuming these certain accounts are posting in good faith
which is a dangerous assumption tbh

I have made the deliberate decision to exclude Substack links from my newsletter. Maybe some authors think that the network effects of the Nazi bar are worth it, but keeping that door open closes others, however small they might be.
If you are an author, Please Leave Substack. They subsidise and outright provide fiscal funding services to the worst parts of society - literal neoNazis and bigots.

If you're not an author, let the authors you read know: You won't read Substack.
He might be Russian (and I think he
‘s wrong here) but “colour” is the standard spelling in Canada where he claims to be from.

What an insult to all Alaska. This is outrageous.
Sales isn’t the same as quality…. Maybe they just have a better location.
I think 21 business days per month is a good estimate for the average number of business days per month … so 252 days/year. Non-leap years have 260 or 261 week days, but some of those are holidays, so 252 is close.
They’re calculating based on 21 work days/month.
$237/day to get $5,000/month means they’re working 21 days/month not 30z

ICYMI: We got leaked audio from a crisis pregnancy center conference in which the fake clinics—and their far-right lawyers—make stunning admissions about the "care" they offer and acknowledge they're manufacturing cases against the states regulating them in order to get a SCOTUS win @autonomynews.co
Abortion Pill “Reversal” Is a Hoax. It's Also a Powerful Right-Wing Legal Strategy.
Speakers at a crisis pregnancy center conference made rare admissions about the challenges of providing so-called abortion “reversal,” and indicated its importance as a litigation tool.

I’m confused. The right y-axis (light blue) looks inverted (numbers go down as it goes up). Is that saying as the graph goes up hiring slows?
I’d guess it depends on the recipe and execution. I bake the recipe from Regan Daley’s In The Sweet Kitchen and they consistently get rave reviews.

RFK Jr. keeps repeating this ridiculous, ignorant bullshit.

Trust in expertise is literally a vital feature of both science and of representative democracy.

I wrote a whole-ass thread about it last time around; maybe worth revisiting.

RFK Jr: We need to stop trusting the experts... Trusting the experts is not a feature of science or democracy, it's a feature of religion and totalitarianism.
We might get stagflation too!
