Remember, the big argument for AI in the arts is that these “artists” have ideas, hundreds of ideas, thousands, all that was stopping them was the hoards of gatekeeping musicians, writers, illustrators… and not that they were lazy and didn’t want to put in the work.

People should buy @meganpiont.bsky.social a drink or 100 for all of the work that she has put in over the past few months. She has created and as a result disseminated 10s of thousands of zines helping folks to know how to report ICE in their cities. This is a Megan appreciation post. Thank you.

…so the CIA decided they wanted James Bond dead, that son of a bitch Van Owen blew off Jane’s Bond’s head.

James Bond, the headless Thompson gunner, N̶o̶r̶w̶a̶y̶’̶s̶ England’s bravest son…
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

I’m old enough to remember that Chuck Schumer once spent years relentlessly fighting for a cause.

I can clearly recall him using every leverage point at his disposal and employing a few dirty tricks.

Unfortunately, that fight was against a bike lane on his street, right in front of Prospect Park.

I think a lot about the story Carl Reiner told: he’d have been a sewing machine repairman if not for a free WPA drama class. That led to other theater work, to Sid Caesar, to Mel Brooks, and all the rest. All because of one free class paid for by a government that felt the arts were worth teaching.
you ever think about the works progress administration? I sure do. I wish that was a thing now. I would be so glad to contribute my labor to like. A random ass local bridge

this is really annoying man my tablet was purchased new in 2019. I spent 2000 dollars on It and it works perfectly fine. Why should anyone buy an expensive tech product that's going to brick in 6 years

I’m counting on Mayor Mamdani (that looks really nice in print and sounds good too) to have Open Streets at every elementary school in New York City up and running for the first day of school in Fall 2026—no excuses, no ability for schools to opt out. It’s a no-brainer
