That Williams 2002 livery still seems modern to me. Blood-curdling that it's now a "retro" livery.

Partly that's a middle aged man whinge, but partly it's that the 2002 livery was really well done and has aged really well. They could do worse than adopt the "retro" special livery for next year.
Karun handing back to Simon unexpectedly quickly because he clearly needed to sneeze. Bless you Karun! #skyf1
Similar experience on The Beiderbecke Affair here! Watched it to the end but haven't bothered with the sequels.
An old show, but this happened to me with The Beiderbecke Affair, where I went in expecting to love it given a) my general taste in television, and b) that many people I know adore it.

I found it infuriating and smug and I don't think I even got halfway through the series.
Did Jenson Button just get the year of his (and Brawn's) world championship wrong live on-air? He said 2007, right?? #SKYF1
Show admin! I've been a bit lax on this front, so here are the last two shows. A bit of a left-field choice of 20 Years Young album in JKVS, a centenary of a local Bedford event in FM Nights... both good for weekend listening!
Well strike that, partly anyway. Went in to see the hygienist next, who was actually quite positive about the condition of my teeth! I nearly fell out of the chair.
Resigning myself to spending the rest of my life being told by dentists that whatever I do it's not good enough.

The BBC are accidentally running the subtitles to Mrs Marple over the Mercury Prize, and it’s rather wonderful. A few of lines could plausibly have been written by Jarvis.
@samholloway.bsky.social Dunno tonight! Can't place a year for tracks 1 & 2, and 3 & 4 aren't going to be any use to me...

When does something start to seem dated? Like obviously, intuitively, you can tell it's not quite from the present moment? I have a theory that a decade isn't quite enough. It takes more like, say, 12 years.

Anyway, here's the video for The Mother We Share by Chvrches. youtube.com/playlist?lis...

@samholloway.bsky.social It's too modern for me this week! Turn of decade stuff I think, and I'm guessing you're going early decade to ease the young 'uns in...

John's back at 9 fighting the forces of evil in music, with indiepop, Americana and electronica all present and correct, plus a 20 Years Young album for cat lovers... Tune in on your DAB, smart speaker or Bedford Radio app!
Thank you! Long since booked :)
Hi - are there stage times please?
I was quite sad about this - it meant no more repeats of The Crystal Maze and Takeshi's Castle.
#OnThisDay 2007 : Virgin 1 replaced FTN
If you want to hear one of my programmes that isn't award-nominated, FM Nights is on at 9pm this evening! Check it out for a reminder of what local radio sounded like in the mid-90s...
@samholloway.bsky.social now, I've only really got song 4 to go on here, but I've a feeling I looked it up once and found it was ineligible for FM Nights by 1 year, which makes it 1998.

(or I could be thinking of something else, but it's all I've got)
@samholloway.bsky.social Fun fact: Jamie the drummer used to follow me on Twitter. But after he joined Sterephonics it looked like his management took over running it and unfollowed me!

The other day I accidentally ran over the guy from Chumbawumba but luckily he was unhurt.
Checked my own Twitter profile to figure out when I last watched the BBC's Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Pre-pandemic! Well justified in starting a re-watch as the nights draw in...
