I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

This is why they should have been doing more. He's punishing for doing nothing other that saying a few salty words, so if they were going to be dragged through the ringer anyway, they should have gotten some bang for their buck.
Breaking: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey are being investigated by the Trump DOJ for allegedly obstructing law enforcement activities, two U.S. officials told WCCO.

It's unclear how Walz and Frey allegedly obstructed law enforcement or what they were allegedly obstructing.

Gov. Walz to MS NOW:

"Two days ago it was Elissa Slotkin. Last week it was Jerome Powell. Before that, Mark Kelly. Weaponizing the justice system … is a dangerous, authoritarian tactic.

Yesterday, these incompetent fucks were just going door-to-door in a neighborhood near my house at 8:30 in the morning. School buses were driving through trying to pick up kids, people were out walking their dogs, and people were taking out their trash cans.

The double pardon really gives away the game. Adriana Camberos started her second round of fraud just weeks after her first pardon. She was charged, convicted, imprisoned…and pardoned again. Trump supporters are permitted unlimited crimes, while the rest of us can get beaten by the secret police.
President Trump quietly issued clemency grants this week, including to a California woman he had pardoned once before and a man whose daughter had donated millions to a Trump super PAC.

Other personalities at @cnn.com could refuse to work with this guy. They could quit. They could stop arguing and, on-air, question him being there at all. They could talk about THIS bs. But they won’t. Don’t watch any of them.
The thing is, some people can make mistakes, get things wrong, be careless, etc. But that’s not what Jennings did here. Jennings knowingly, purposefully and intentionally lied to utterly distort what was said, which CNN pays him to do every day. CNN is the enabler of this.

I think all the discussions of "Trump cancelling the midterms" is folks talking past each other. 1. Yes, he would love to cancel elections and it is a genuine concern that he will pull whatever bullshit he can to screw them up, but 2. It's not so easy to "cancel elections" when you don't run them.

"There comes a point where we have to start questioning whether or not he’s actually aware of what’s happening around him & the harm he’s doing. It’s similar to historical figures like Nero or Caligula. Their madness took over & they started doing wildly destructive things. Trump is in that place."

If you are looking for a way to send support and love to Minneapolis
We are in fact DESPERATE for winter coats, waterproof gloves, and good boots. We get so many wonderful donations but it is so cold and the numbers of unhoused unsheltered people are going up at the absolute worst time for it, and we run out of coats weekly.
The frigid Twin Cities temperatures will hurt the homeless; so do not gloat about the impact on ICE without also stepping up here:

ICE keeps saying the people protesting it are being paid without any evidence, but we have receipts showing that the people *defending* ICE are absolutely being paid.

And yet we only hear lies about the former on cable news.

Fun fact! We could be using the $75 billion allocated for ICE on literally anything else! Like essential services that help people exist! It’s almost as if these issues + our priorities have a lot of overlap!

Also people definitely can’t afford things if they get shot in the face!

I don't think people realize how quickly self-sorting is happening as the middle evaporates.

You're either 100% behind the resistance or you're a fascist collaborator.
We are so far past the Rubicon that it isn't worth having a discussion anymore as to whether Trump is acting as an authoritarian. The only question is whether we have the strength and courage to get back to the other side.

And listen. ICE doesn’t care about your passport anyway. They detain US citizens constantly.

None of this is actually about immigration. It never was, but they aren’t even pretending anymore.

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.
