Husband. Father. Adopted Geordie. Mostly here to talk about Arsenal, Leicester Tigers and Irish rugby.
One hundred percent agree with this. It's nothing against the players but I felt this sub also says something about the mindset. I know they were good but we should be pushing for a third against Sunderland not inviting pressure and clinging on which ultimately we failed to do...
I also think we invited that pressure with the Mosquera sub. No slight on him at all, and I do get it when managers do that, but we had players like White, MLS, Nwaneri who could have given us more energy and play more of the final stages in their half.

At least Arsenal have the squad to cope this season but these injuries are becoming a bit of a joke now...

I look forward to Salah, VVD, Wirtz, Ekitike and Gravenberch all being out over the course of the next few months... 🙄
Arsenal winger Noni Madueke faces around two months out after sustaining a knee injury during Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City.

The 23-year-old started the fixture but was substituted for the returning Bukayo Saka at half-time.

No wonder we took so long trying and failing to get Sesko to sign. We kept offering him a pen, he kept refusing to take it.

If you're going to the game on Saturday why not swing by the Islington Food Bank (near the Tony Adams statue) and make a donation. AISA members will be there taking your money, food and toiletries to help local families. You can also chat about Arsenal and the work we do with the club. Don't be shy!

So it's back to giving players contracts we're going to have to buy them out of in 12 months time is it... Imagine being the person suggesting they release this news before the window has closed and whilst Spurs are signing Eze... 🙄
Leandro Trossard has agreed a new contract at Arsenal which will grant him a significant pay rise.

You know Arsenal's transfer rumours have dried up when this is the 'breaking' news you see in your timeline...
🚨BREAKING: Viktor Gyokeres WILL BE the official penalty taker for Arsenal this season ahead of Bukayo Saka & Martin Ødegaard.

The decision was made ahead of the new Premier League season.

Maybe I'm an idiot and he's amazing but I've genuinely never heard of this guy and he's going for £15m! Liverpool have to be the best selling club in the world. Chelsea are good but it's easy when you can sell players to yourself...

Re certain stories, I appreciate we have to be careful about what we say at this stage. However I think if you truly love your club, you should be the first to demand an investigation or internal review if there's any hint of a cover up over a serious matter. Even if that involves a manager you love

If we sign Gyokeres there’s gonna be a big test: let’s see if those who are pro-Gyok and (for some reason) mad at people who have concerns about whether his play will translate to the PL can ALSO process that these same exact concerned people likely have a mad desire for it to translate like crazy.

Arsenal pick Gyokeres? I try to give a balanced view here on the player but I come away still skeptical of this move. It is a big bet from Berta on of the more impactful decisions the club will make this summer
Arsenal pick Gyokeres?
This is the first big bet from Andrea Berta and I have to say that I am nervous about it and I don't know if that is the right choice.

‪“Fun” fact 31 of 39 goals scored in the Primeira Liga came against the bottom 11 teams‬

Basically he's completely unproven, isn't that young and is going to be really expensive. Makes zero sense to me. Very underwhelming signing if it happens tbh.
Viktor Gyökeres has scored 68 goals in 66 appearances for Sporting CF in the Portuguese Primeira.

17 of those were penalties.

He scored two goals in six games against the three other big clubs in Portugal. 11 in 10 against teams ranked 5th to 9th and 26 in 17 games against the bottom nine.
