Origin Story

1.76 acres is the playing area of the pitch at the Emirates.

115 yards x 74 yards = 76,590 square feet

76,590 square feet/43560 square feet per acre = 1.76 acres.
Away at the 2nd place team isn't the ideal spot to blood in a defensive pairing of two very young guys who are both new to the PL.

It's as pressurized a match as you can ask for, and it's quite reasonable to think that Hincapie and Mosquera will only get better and better as a duo.

We'll be ok.

Interesting.

Very few stories (no stories?) about how their utter lack of discipline, how their out-of-control, crude and emotional manager sets a terrible example for his squad.

In the face of a game where that *precise lack of discipline* likely cost them two points and a tighter title race.

Good example here. The home team that *once again took a red card in a key match to kill chances at a win* is the one in for the praise.

How have they learned? They played recklessly and sabotaged their own advantage.

It’s so fucking predictable, where these writers heap their plaudits.

Maybe I am only seeing what I am fed but there’s a disconnect in the framing of today’s game, at their ground, where the referendum is about OUR title chances and not about *their* title claims, their being indisciplined and going down to 10 men, dropping points, in a game at home vs. the leaders.

I wasn’t totally kidding about this, to be clear.
I guess there’s a silver lining: maybe this is our rock bottom!

I wish we had not succumbed to a Szobo wonder goal, had not coughed up the lead late to Sunderland, and taken advantage of the extra man today.

I am also keenly aware that wishing this all had happened is setting the bar at near-perfection.

That’s sort of at the edge of barely reasonable.

Missed the last 20 due to a car ride. My take is that’s a good point. At even strength we looked in a bit of trouble. The red card bought us a point.

Need our CBs back but also good to get that game out of our system and that pairing can only improve if called on again.

Up 5.

Pretty darn good.

Yeah, easily worst game since Newcastle away last year. It feels similar - just dread, like nothing is going to happen.

Luckily we are better this year, so maybe something can happen.

I don’t have the data or the tactical chops to explain this substantively, but I suspect our CB pairing is just unsettling enough to the rest of the team to throw everything off, if even a little. Against a good team like Chelsea that’s all it takes for things to be as disjointed as they were.

Can’t think of a time when we were up a man this early when I couldn’t wait for halftime.

I think everyone needs to take a quaalude, a couple guys need to take a seat, then go again.

Perhaps the least pleasant half of football we’ve put on since either of the ones from Newcastle away last year.

Great, more Graeme Le Saux idiocy. Sound down.

Who is Fofana going to assault first, today?
November 30, 2025 at 3:37 PM
AFC playing the 2nd place team on the road w/o 1st choice CBs. 1st choice R8 on bench due to prior injury. 1st choice LW out injured. 1st and 2nd choice strikers either out or on the bench returning from injury.

Jonathan Wilson giddily teeing up a story on our mentality, if things don’t go right.

The injury stuff is so tedious.

Yes, I know “it happens to every team”. Duh.

It’s still tedious.

Uhhhh, where’s Saliba?
November 30, 2025 at 3:16 PM
We could get just a swap of Noni for Trossard, Hincapie for Mosquera.

He could go Eze for Trossard, Merino in the center, and put in Odegaard with Rice and Zubi.

Honestly have no clue what Mikel chooses and I think any of these will be ok.

Lots to shift off the bench as needed.

United with their 11th “turning point” of the season.
November 30, 2025 at 2:00 PM
“A lovely bit of play from United” says the pinhead with the microphone.

The “lovely bit of play” was two simple passes and then a cross gotten wrong.

Who’s got “Sp*rs were a bit better after they laughably fell behind by two after 6 minutes” on their halftime analysis bingo card.*

*they could easily have been down three
November 29, 2025 at 8:49 PM
Mickey Van de Ven really turns it on when his team is down a couple, eh?

Every Sp*rs fan looks like they just saw that their car got a parking ticket.
