This is the best straight line shot I can find. And the players are clear. It’s close, and maybe on another day the call is made WRONGLY and they disallow and we are gaslit and told it’s a judgment call, but the fact is the call was correct and it’s not ok to make this about an “opinion”.

I hadn’t registered that the story was Dale Johnson, who surprisingly gets it right. At the same time he (wrongly) entertains Joe Hart’s absolute wrongness. There aren’t “opinions” here. The players were OUT of the line of sight. He should just say “Hart is wrong, the call was right” and leave it.

It wasn’t line of sight. The call was correct. The primary TV angles are deceptive. Our players were clear of the line of sight and VdV was the bigger impediment. This angle, if you use geometric logic, shows the situation at release pretty well - even considering the limitations of one frame.

Freeze frame and camera angle caveat, but geometric logic tells you that our players have cleared Vicario’s sight line at the moment of Eze’s shot. He has a full view at the moment of release. His own player, as you say, is the big impediment.
