Worst part about owning a house is there are some problems where it's hard to tell if it's a $3 problem, a $300 problem, or a $3000 problem.

On tiktok I ran across the second Buffy and Angel shipper in two days and I try not to yuck people's yum but I'd ship Buffy with almost everyone (Xander not included) before Angel. Clem would be several notches above Angel for me.

Let's get real, they're making one of my books into a movie. That's that. Fuck using my dictatorial powers to prop up someone elses work. (But also no, I want more weird art films, with a lot less input from the financiers. Let some weird directors make shit unhindered.)
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

It's so much more satisfying to curse a deity than random happenstance.

But the rest of us need an austerity budget bc there isn’t enough money to go around :( :( :(
Corporate profits before taxes in Canada hit a new peak in the 3rd quarter, rising 7.6% from the 2nd quarter, StatCan reported yesterday. The previous pre-tax peak was in 2022 Q2. Telecomm profits jumped an extraordinary $10.4 billion but these were mostly one-time non-operational gains. #cdnecon

Every new spinoff, sequel or prequel is just sapping appeal from the franchise at this point.

Been screeching about this a lot in recent years, as the Amazon boycott push intensifies: supporting actual authors has gotten utterly forgotten in the process.

I see people constantly promoting sites that are either A) pirating, that give us nothing, or B) sites that pay authors next to nothing.
