Councilor Morillo's anti-AI price fixing ordinance passes!! amazing feat by Morillo and team.

So much admiration for Morillo who has quietly been doing everything in her power to protect communities from harm, while facing credible death threats and ugly bad faith attacks.
huge props to @counciloravalos.bsky.social to holding her ground and holding her colleagues to account even as Councilor Pirtle-Guiney tried to undermine her.

respect.

I would like to take this opportunity to get on the record and apologize: I had complained about how every single thing at the grocery store now costs five dollars more than it used to, but I had not seen the latest data from DoorDash's State of Local Commerce report, which disproves that.
At some point embarrassment MUST come

Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

This is such a major loss. She was generous and brilliant.
I've been waiting to comment publicly on this until the university made its announcement, but the Department of History at Princeton is devastated by the recent death of our wonderful colleague Alison Isenberg.
