A large number of comments can slow it down, force changes, or lay the groundwork for future litigation. YOUR comments are where that starts."

🧵 The Trump administration just proposed two rules that would effectively ban best-practice health care for trans youth.

Folks look at you like you're crazy when you say we're in the midst of the worst, most unprecedented Article I constitutional crisis in American history, & then it's Thursday.
The Kennedy Center name is established by federal statute, and therefore may be repealed only by federal statute. www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/...

I don’t think I’m being alarmist. If anything, I worry that we’ve become so inured to Trump’s madness that we’re not alarmist enough.

Trump must be removed from office as soon as possible. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/the-real-threat-of-trumps-madness

Surprise! It’s another scam!
Trump is taking money out their housing allowances approved by Congress and giving it to them in a “bonus” so it looks like it came from him. It’s just a shell game with military pay from the ultimate con man

We're suing to challenge the Trump-Vance admin's attempt to defund CIGIE – the council that coordinates across agencies to expose waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government.

This is a part of the admin’s larger effort to hide misconduct and avoid accountability. We will see them in court.

I went to college with a bunch of these people. It was obvious they were deeply unserious, hyper-ambitious hacks then. What I underestimated was the degree to which they were also aspiring authoritarians.

Specifically, lawyers who look at the plain meaning of laws and constitution as something to be gamed if they are clever enough, like looking for the loophole to help their rich client beat the murder charge.

Dershowitz would sell out the constitution for a dozen pierogis.
There is a history book to be written about the role of Harvard Law and Yale Law in the creation of this authoritarian moment in America.

I've been saying for a long, long time that Trump holdovers at the FBI WFO hamstrung the DOJ's investigations into Donald Trump. These new Grassley emails prove it. Example: Garland green-lit the search of Mar-a-Lago over multiple attempts to stonewall, and found evidence of multiple crimes.

It seems awfully telling that Republicans were unwilling to hold this hearing publicly. It’s not like the case hinged on classified information; they’re just afraid of the public hearing what Smith has to say.

It’s obvious that *before this week* Trump had never heard about Venezuela nationalizing its oil industry (in 1976!) but now it’s a casus belli in a shitshow that makes the 2002-03 run-up to invading Iraq look like a model of planning, preparation, and logic.
Trump on Venezuela: "Getting land, oil rights, whatever we had -- they took it away because we had a president that maybe wasn't watching. But they're not gonna do that. We want it back. They took our oil rights. We had a lot of oil there. They threw our companies out. And we want it back."

Just a reminder, or as new info for those who don't know:

Under EO 13526, which is still in force and which Trump has affirmed, no information can be classified to conceal violations of the law or prevent embarrassment.

Someone please explain that to Hegseth.

Opinion | I'm Trump's former lawyer. Jack Smith should be celebrated, not vilified.
