Boyle: Mike Johnson and House Republicans have decided to do their own version of quiet quitting — they canceled session three weeks ago, they canceled session two weeks ago, and they’ve now canceled it last week and this week.

There is clearly no strategy there other than pure, sheer laziness

I refuse to tolerate negging in my personal life, and I’d really like more of my fellow Democrats to realize that it’s not actually their civic duty to subject themselves to reading columns by writers that do the same thing
it's remarkable how negging is practically the price of admission for thinkfluencers. i started reading a piece in the argument — a blog explicitly *for liberals* — about rfk jr today and the thesis was "he's dangerous but elite liberals just don't get it, man."

Don't get me wrong. Under the First Amendment, you have the right to say you love Hitler. You have the right to call Black people by a word we all know.

And the rest of us have the right to think you're a Nazi piece of shit. And we will. And we'll fire your sorry ass, too, fuckface.

I write this for a few reasons.

1) Accountability on something specific.

2) To model to swaths of Jewish leadership that *it's possible* to take accountability for genocide complicity.

3) To talk about repentance & repair work post-genocide.

It all still matters. It doesn't stop mattering now.

Remember the quaint days of yore when it was all “you call everyone you disagree with a Nazi” and yet now it’s all “oh so now we’re Nazis for loving Hitler?” What an incredible age of newspeak we live in.

AOC: You're damn right that it's a Democratic priority to keep people from getting poisoned, from dangerous chemicals

You're damn right that it's a Democratic priority to bring down the cost of housing

If they want to say that that's a Democratic priority, they're right,
I think it'd be okay for Dex to be the stat added to the attack roll but to also have a minimum Strength requirement to fire the bow at all.

Vance, miserable liar that he is, referred to these bigoted, Nazi-flavored Young Republican posts as a "college group chat."

But most of the quoted in the Politico article are GROWN ADULTS with JOBS.

"republican staffers are all literal nazis" is less of a groupchat thing and more of a posting on main thing at this point

After spending ages trying to be clever or subversive with my fantasy TTRPG settings, going back to a pseudo-medieval world with the standard human-dwarf-elf-halfling races feels almost refreshing.

I was trying to make my world different when I should have focused on just making it fun.

A very nice appreciation of Chaosium founder Greg Stafford, who passed away 7 years ago this month, but whose influence rates him as "one of the best modern fantasists, worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as Moorcock, Leiber, McCaffrey, Martin, and others." open.substack.com/pub/someanci...

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Rana. Rana was studying to work in a medical laboratory before the war and her husband owned a small gift shop. Their home and shop were destroyed. They have two children Hamoud, 3 and Tota, 7. Hamoud’s eyes were injured and needs treatment.

Wow. Trump's masked federal agents tear-gassed a crowd in Chicago and ended up gassing a bunch of local Chicago cops who were there to *deescalate tensions.* One local cop was captured on film washing out his eyes with a hose:
