I landed on hiding the bar as you scroll up, if there are unread posts, and then hiding it when you scroll down it not. On feeds it always hides as you scroll down.

This was a bit of a UX challenge, because when restoring your last read position it’s expected that you will scroll in the opposite direction of a typical feed.

i think the only way for atproto to succeed is for us to show what apps can do when every app sees every other app's public data, and they share an identity system. no technical or sociological argument is as convincing as seeing seamless interop and the lighthearted competitive landscape it unlocks
