Going from the gardening to the mom and the intensity was a good indication of the rest of the book, light notes followed by heavy and intense.

Done with the Roundhouse. Dang the end was a kick in the genitals. The rest too, but less so. Mixed feelings on Sonja more than anyone else. I like Linda and what she represents, that sorta yin/yang bit. The pacing of the grocery trip was masterful.

Finished The Round House & my emotions are all over the place. What an ending! Such memorable characters & the story came together brilliantly. I feel like this would be a rewarding one to re-read just to catch all the layered nuance.

I thought the opening scene with Joe & his father fighting against intrusive plants that threaten the foundation and safety of their home was a brilliant hint and set up for what the rest of the story would become. (1/2)
