fascinated to see the various machinations under-16s are gonna use in Aus to get around the social media ban. they're gonna reinvent 90s hacker subculture, their rooms are gonna glow green and pulse

I personally intend on getting around the u16 social media ban and never confronting the indignity of a computer trying to figure out how old you are by just never updating any of my apps, foolproof plan. Not at all related but if I suddenly disappear from online it’s been nice knowing you all

Me throughout the entirety of The History of Sound which is so minutely calibrated to being a film for me that I started to have a crisis of identity from being Too Seen

In a liminal space where I’ve been provisionally offered a job, have done all the paperwork/required checks on my end, now I’m waiting to hear that everything’s gee from their end and when they want me to start (which could be immediately) so I’m maxing funemployment treats cos IT COULD END ANY TIME

'Tis the season to re-share my big @letterboxd.social love letter to The Muppet Christmas Carol, ft. the voices of director Brian Henson, composer Paul Williams, and Gonzo the Great’s dad Dave Goelz.

As The Muppet Christmas Carol turns 30, the brains and hearts behind the festive Dickens adaptation—director Brian Henson, composer Paul Williams and Gonzo the Great’s personal assistant, Dave Goelz—s...

Josh O’Connor in Wake Up Dead Man doing more for Catholicism than even Pope Chicago Bob could imagine in his wildest dreams (also love that the film finishes with Tom Waits’ voice, the most holy secular thing to exist)

Spent last evening/this morning with an American pal who is on an Australian road trip, got to make sure they were immensely well fed and treated to a cool sliver of town and just waved them off on their way towards the Great Ocean Road and here’s the thing I love FRIENDS and I love BEING HOSPITABLE

Starting to worry I am coming across as incredibly unhinged in these job interviews (to be fair to me this morning’s interview involved TRAINS)

I don’t have any sort of music wrapped this year but I can tell you that the Berlin Philharmonic CD of Strauss waltzes that I got for $1 at an op shop has been getting a real workout

A pal sent me this asking “is this sound?” knowing how mad I get at diabetes scaremongering and yeah, happily most of it is! Pushes back at the stereotype that diabetes is anyone’s ‘fault’ and most importantly refuses to treat it as an eventual death sentence www.abc.net.au/news/2025-11...
The things people with diabetes want you to be aware of
We spoke to six people with three different types of diabetes to find out what they wish more of the public knew. Here's what they had to say.

Well came home from my weekend away yesterday to a literal nazi white supremacist pamphlet in my letterbox, apparently they did the whole neighbourhood, great that these scumbags now feel safe enough walking suburban streets doing a letter drop

BETTY SAYS THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR CAT NAMES Betty being the cat my mum brought home after six weeks of working at the shelter frankly heroic I would have lasted all of six minutes before capitulating to a cat (Betty also doesn’t stay still long enough to get a good snap cos she’s too into pats)

My dad literally described Asteroid City to me this morning with “you know the one, they’re in the desert, and then all the soldiers and aliens show up and they’re freaking out??” and it took me AGES to figure it out

Good morning gang, so my mum volunteers at an animal shelter helping out with the cats, and it is often hard for the vollies to come up with new, varied names for the cats up for adoption. So I want to know: what would you name a shelter cat, and I’ll give mum the resultant list of names 🐈🐈‍⬛

People just flinging around “who abandoned Snoopy in the vestibule?” as if they’re not haunted by Maestro every day of their goddamn lives instead of just on Thanksgiving WOW I WONDER WHAT THAT IS LIKE

While this is leagues better than last year’s xmas stamp of the weirdly masculine kangaroo and kookaburra combo that were definitely going to beat up your queer arse in an alley, there is something vaguely… uncanny? About this Santa in a rashie hanging out on a beach with penguins

A friend is trying to turn me into her “just called for a chat!” friend which, already i did not consent to this, but also she is a mum with a baby, I am an unemployed bum on a deeply anti-social schedule and every time she tries to call me is just NOT COMPATIBLE with my lifestyle

I love this film a lot, I don't push it on people often because Mamet is an acquired taste but it's so funny, so caustic, and it's important to know that not only is Phil the leading man but the ROMANTIC leading man and he's just beautiful in it
Saw the movie 'State and Main' recently and am shocked this didn't get brought up more around MeToo. It almost feels like a Cohen bros movie, like half the cast are Cohen regulars. I think this might be my favorite Phillip Seymour Hoffman roll. He gets to play a leading man and really nails it.

Was too poor and stupid to realise I was too poor to survive in the arts until after I’d wasted a lot of time, now I just do whatever I fall into that pays the rent (basically ‘what career path’)
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?
