ICE pepper-sprayed him, dragged him from his car, locked him in a detention center, and placed him on suicide watch. He even missed his young daughter’s birthday in the process.

1. It's terrible.

2. Too many disturbed people have access to too many guns in this country.

3. Too many political figures use incendiary and dehumanizing rhetoric. By far the most significant of them is the president. The fish of political violence rots from the head down.

It appears that the COVID pandemic contributed to a huge increase in mental health issues in the U.S., particularly among teenage and young adult males. Ready access to guns then leads to these types of tragedies.
