Been playing the first Hades since Hades 2 came out. Beautiful art style, great music, lots of lore to discover and dive into, but man, I think I just don't like rogue-likes. I get the appeal of the gameplay loop, but it is repetitive and tedious and not for me.

"But the tech will improve!" Every new upgrade to ChatGPT has gotten more demanding and less efficient with resources without getting any more accurate. The tech isn't improving.

As critical as you are about genAI in this video, I still think you're being too generous. Even if we solve the energy and plagiarism problems, there's still the fact that it requires constant fact-checking because it's no more advanced than the text prediction in your phone's keyboard.

Link is a teenager at the oldest in most of these games, often a child around ten years old. I'd be silent, too, if I had to explore dark caverns and decrepit buildings, solve puzzles that could kill me if I misstep, and slay monsters ten times my size with the weight of the kingdom on my shoulders.

There is something uniquely unsettling about Wind Waker's ReDeads compared to those in other games. The way their eyes glow and their faces animate when they shriek fills me with a terror that other, more scarily designed ReDeads fail to achieve.
