Katy Tur joins Joanna Coles to parse how a once forceful Trump, who called her “little Katy,” is now plagued by health concerns, prosecutorial incompetence, and an ever-growing Epstein scandal. youtu.be/PRQcIBDxP-g?...

I like that they named the channel "ViVO tunes" to fool people into thinking it's somehow associated with the Vevo music video network. This sort of shoddy content isn't making the case for the value of generating videos this way. I don't care about the resource consumption so much as the ugliness.
It's a fan video, not associated with anyone, I don't think. Someone spent the compute cycles to make this abomination before the Lord. 1 hr 46 minutes of it, too. The sloppiest of slop, but hey, they can get ad revenues. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. www.youtube.com/live/w63Aw55...

Bad Bunny singing en español is too spicy, so here's an AI slop concert to honor Charlie Kikr [sic].

"Christian AI Concert" is a contradiction in terms, if Christianity means anything more than empty symbolism. If Charlie Kirk is "forever alve" anywhere, it's on the astral plane, not the data.

* Solomon here is speaking nonsense. The rate and direction of innovation is shaped by social factors, including regulations, laws, norms and the structure of the economy. In other words, it's shaped by society and culture.
But this isn't a policy conversation; he's trying to sell a monorail.

Solomon sounds like he's outsourced his thinking to a chatbot.
"Technology moves at the speed of innovation"* is right up there with "Moisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beauty."
(Also, I'm pretty sure the PM is 100% on board with what Solomon's doing.)
@mark-carney.bsky.social...could you please ask your minister how he defines 'AI,' a marketing term? And, if he is relying on universities, could he at least pay attention to the research and stop parroting Big Tech hype?

There are plenty of places that sell sandwiches cheaper than you'd think (grocery store delis) but they still can't compete with the economy of Europe's "mass-produced in sweatshops at four in the morning" offerings.

I KNEW this was crucial to your "American groceries are terrible" take!
it is very strange to me that Americans just cannot do packaged, relatively cheap sandwiches. they're fucking awful here. (handmade sandwiches are often great, but, like, the £2.75 Tesco's 'good but not great' sandwich is a missing piece)
It is a huge problem to me that sandwiches in the US are both delicious and stupidly expensive.

There are days I miss a prawn mayo or tuna sandwich meal deal from Boots or WH Smith.

The USA has a chance to retain our democracy only if we can bring most Trump supporters into accepting the same basic facts about the world that are necessary for governance, e.g. efficacy of vaccines and confidence in subject matter experts, and belief that government isn't always lying/conspiring.
I thought Americans would shake off the fascination with Trump long ago. I know many working class ppl who supported him early on are disgusted by him now but some others are still excited about what he is doing 🤷‍♂️ I intend to circle back to this matter once they no longer have health insurance 🤔
