Dropped off her keys and the last remaining stuff that mom had given me but now wants back (nothing she gives is actually given, it's just a loan she can request back at any time). That's it. Nothing else connecting us. Blocked her number. I want to help, but I'm not going down with this ship.

Anyway, so my mom threatened to send the cops after me if I didn't return the house and bank keys she gave me. So I think it's officially time to cut all contact. This has to stop. I'll drop everything on her doorstep tomorrow and be done with it.

If you're taking to the streets to protest today, know your rights.

"KNOW YOUR PROTEST RIGHTS
You don’t need a permit to protest in response to breaking news and you don’t need a permit to march in the streets or along sidewalks, as long as you’re not obstructing traffic or access to buildings.
When you are lawfully present in any public space, you have the right to photograph anything in plain view, including federal buildings and the police.
If you believe your rights have been violated, when you can, write down everything you remember, get contact information for witnesses, and take photographs of any injuries.
If you get stopped by the police, ask if you’re free to go. If they say yes, calmly walk away.

It is sharp writing. Doesn't set up anything it's not willing to pay off (and pay off quickly), and so far it is leaving nothing for the sequel. We are not dragging plot threads out forever and a day. Shit *happens*.

While other parts of life are melting down, let me highly recommend to you all out there the animated series Pantheon on Netlfix right now. I'm not through with it, but at a bit over halfway through season one and it's writing that is, I think, on par with something like Andor.

Mmm, indeed. I was late coming to Outland, but it's fun. The best Alien franchise movie that isn't int he franchise. Clearly they didn't have the same budget, but they did alight with what they had.
