Also, not for nothing, but most of the time when I get those recommendations, I'm sorry, but it doesn't actually get good. It's just more of the same with a new haircut. I think some folks just get Stockholm syndrome with media they think they're supposed to like.

Just trust, you do your best. Sometimes it isn't enough, and it's their decision.

Protect yourself too. You can't save a sinking ship by lashing yourself to it and trying to float.

Eventually I had to remove myself from the situation because I was the last person helping and it was getting abusive. Everyone else was pushed away.

Sometimes there's not a trick to it. Sometimes people just can't make that transition and you can't talk them into it.

Unfortunately I've had to go no-contact with my mom in large part relative to this very argument. She's in declining health, she's living alone, her situation is very bad, but she absolutely refuses to even consider it.

I admit, it gets more plausible daily. I don't like that, but I must admit it.
