books by celebrities should have a maximum print run of 500. any celebrity with an idea for a children's book must pay $5000 into a pool to cover freelance artists' health insurance before publication

Eensy Weensy in her shelter photo 13 years ago and Eensy Weensy at the vet last week.

When I checked in at the vet, I said I'm here with Eensy Weensy, and my last name is Neal. The receptionist said, "Oh, there's only one Eensy Weensy."
A glamour shot of Eensy Weensy the cat that was used in a social media post by the Orange County Animal Services on September 28, 2012 A photo of Eensy Weensy the cat that I took while we were at the vet last week.

“Concerns over an AI bubble bursting have grown lately, with analysts recently finding that it’s 17 times the size of the dotcom-era bubble and four times bigger than the 2008 financial crisis.”

Hang onto your butts. This “correction” is gonna hurt.

It took me a while to get there even using a Rodney Dangerfield joke as a template. "If you could learn to make love, I could fire the gardener" really had to go through quite a bit of translation

Last week I told kitchen table metamour #2, If you would learn to cook, I could stop using doordash. She said, If you could learn to top, I wouldn't have to tolerate the kava sommelier's microaggressions! I get no respect!

The conversations that I overhear while eating at the food co-op are the type of conversation that people used to have loudly, out in the open.

Least favorite conversation to overhear: anything on a speakerphone.
wanderlane.bsky.social
That covers literally everything anyone says there except for talking about how the co-op doesn't have Coke, it has weird sodas with no corn syrup in them. Usually people don't go on and on about that so I don't really mind them.

Third least favorite conversation to overhear: baffled privileged liberals who still don't understand what's happening and say repeatedly "but it's illegal."

Second least favorite conversation to overhear: women who meet for lunch to talk about how shitty their families are.

Having said that, I did get some enjoyment out of the time the mother and wife of a dude met to discuss his Adam Sandler shorts.
