You can't logic your way out of being burnt out. Unless you're me. Who should be able to do it and it's a personal failing that I can't

This two-parter below is exactly why it's hard to make clothes in the United States.

Let's look at how much it costs to produce a button-up shirt in the US. 🧵
Someone on Twitter replies to me: "meh. buy american or stfu."

Two hours later, in a separate thread, the write: "$30 for a single button-up is ridiculous unless it is decent quality silk."

It’s also an option for businesses generally considered public spaces to designate private “staff only” areas, such as back offices or kitchens, which means 🧊 would need a judicial warrant signed by a judge to get back there, which they are unlikely to have.
neutralgena.bsky.social
a club/bar is a public space, clearing ICE to enter.
HOWEVER: once a ticket, cover or wristband is required for entry, it deems the area PRIVATE, preventing ICE raids indoors. this information is directly from ICIRR. in order to get in to your PRIVATE party, they must have a warrant. ⬇️

Again, I ask, what are we going to do when ICE shows up. Sharing infographics (if even that) only does so much, because it’s not beyond me that most of the shows on the strip have almost all-white audiences, and I don’t trust white gays to do the right thing (clearly). So what are we doing?

rude of it. hope it clears up quickly <3

Another example of a UBI adjacent experiment working for the benefit of all people. Imagine what would happen if straight up UBI happened… universally.

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

Vampiric attraction

//cw: facial bodyhorror
digital painting of a pale and mostly nude masc vampire. He is puring blood over his torso and it trickles down on them. Their humanoid part of face is mostly covered by his fist, but the lower part of his face resembles the snout of star-nosed mole. There are three pomegranate seeds floating int he background.

idk I have a lot of thoughts on this kinda stuff, espec as I've been really expanding my music taste/knowledge lately
jaggsramone.bsky.social
I get that lol. for me personally, I just lean towards seeking stimulus. but yea the person in the screenshot is just kinda spouting bullshit imo, especially given that all the listed genres have their roots in blues, which is ya know... a black american genre
jaggsramone.bsky.social
like I do often turn to metal as a sensory thing (I genuinely find death metal to be calming at times) but this is just... such bullshit
jaggsramone.bsky.social
metal especially lacks in *checks notes* tech shit

espec if you ignore like 80% of its various subgenres
