Also important, the more you learn to trust yourself, the more you come to realize that you can indeed handle it. Whatever it is, you got it. You have everything you need within your grasp. Trust yourself and your source to show up for you when called upon.
A thing I say that may help y'all, because I'm a recovering overthinker and a lot of y'all are immersed in overthinking:

"The worst thing that can happen is usually either something I won't do or something can't control."

That makes more room for better things to happen
Try to condition yourself to assume the best instead of the worst.

I feel like that’s one of the best skills you can master to have a more enjoyable life experience.

A favorite movie.
Movie you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Star Wars or Trek, LOTR, or Marvel.

Have you ever heard of Reginald F Lewis? Probably not, and I believe that's by design, as Black erasure is endemic in America.

Reginald F Lewis was the first Black person to build a billion dollar company, TLC Beatrice. It was also the first Black owned company to crack the fortune 500.

this documentary is a must watch, especially if you watched sarafina every time it was the movie matinee on TV

it does a great job of visually connecting apartheid, jim crow, & the violence of urban poverty, and slavery if you dare to look further

Black men please get checked

In the past two weeks I have heard stories about 1 man passing at 31 from a heart attack and another man passing at 34 from a stroke

I personally knew one man and my dad knew the other one

This is not normal ! Please do not play about your health.

I have preached about annual physicals. Physicals help me detect heart issues early and I’ve been able to address with my cardiologist. I’m not even 50 yet.

And even the legit single dads. My dad had full custody of 5 of us after my parents divorced and there's two-day-a-weekers running around here acting like Jesus

Or when some asshole says "I'm a single dad" and you find out he has shared custody or only has them on weekends. 😒 That's stolen valor from all the legit single moms out there.

They see your light, warmth, love, and care, relish it, covet it, and whole time how they are and how they treat you only dims and destroys it. They may not even be aware of that quality in themselves. Those ones are the scary ones to me.

Beware the Remmicks. They out here.

One of the things that really stuck with me about Sinners is the way it very accurately shows how someone can see you from afar being happy, free, and living life, desire you, pursue you, GENUINELY think they're coming in to make things better when really all they're capable of is destruction.

This video is specifically about symbolic violence, but it also neatly summarizes the crux of his series, which is to make the dynamics between classes transparent by applying Pierre Bourdieu's concepts to today.
