Latest NSW crime stats out today show SF&DV assaults accounted for 66% of all NSW assaults last year. Raw figures are total 26454 all assaults, 15758 F&DV "serious" & "common" assaults, & 1600 sexual assaults of adults & kids.
Do we think this is serious enough yet to do something about urgently?

Time to stop obsessing over 'false allegations' of sexual violence and start listening to women
False allegations of sexual violence are uncommon. What we do see is the opposite problem. Most sexual assaults are never reported to police.

Got an email from a landlord saying their property is incorrectly listed on shitrentals.org because it was never managed by Ray white and the ceiling didn’t collapse. Googled the property and found it was rented by Ray white and then the renter showed me that the ceiling did in fact collapse.

I call on the Australian government to #RaiseTheRate of all support payments to a living wage.
This would be the single most effective way to lift the productivity, quality of life, and well-being of the whole country.

Australia has an epidemic of police misidentification of F&DV victims as perpetrators. Instead of only funding police to be 1st responders we need skilled professionals alongside, or where possible, instead & a choice of solutions tailored to communities & need

Jacquie Thomson was brutally attacked and then misidentified as the aggressor. She's working to hold police accountable
Jacquie Thomson is one of a large number of women who police continue to misidentify as primary aggressors instead of as victim/survivors.

We need safer ways to report family & domestic violence. For responders to help instead of making it worse. Police keep getting it wrong, misidentifying victims as aggressors. They can't continue to respond to F&DV incidents without experts alongside.
This is my story

Independent Legal Representation should be a right for victim/survivors of SF&DV & people so commonly misidentified by police as primary aggressors when they're really victims of F&DV. Any other model - like what we have now - guarantees that justice is not served

This is deeply sickening. When privileged white women like me can't get justice from police, what chance do first nations women have from our racist, misogynist police departments? This story leaves me heart broken. We should all be ashamed that we accept this

This story is tragic & completely avoidable. We need better ways for survivors to call for help when police only make things worse. This egregious example is far from rare.
