As an organiser, I’ve been banging this drum for a decade now — but more and more the data backs my gut up.

The AES and Macquarie post-election studies for both 2022 and 2025 have shown just how stark a cleavage housing tenure is.

I've covered this in the piece but TLDR:

- there is a legal definition of 'age restricted social media platform'
- esafety doesn't decide who fits the definition, but it does have enforcement powers
- esafety says only its list of 10 platforms in the ban have to worry about the ban ATM

For those unfamiliar, this involves:

- Cutting down trees that have sucked up carbon as they grew
- Burning them for energy
- Capturing the carbon that results from burning
- Transporting the carbon
- Injecting it underground
- Guarding it for the next few thousand years at least
NEW | A single carbon removal project at a biomass power station In the UK could cost £30 BILLION in government subsidies.

This would cost more than the UK government plans on spending for carbon capture programmes over 25 years.

The Australian government claims it will meet its 2030 emissions target almost entirely due to an assumption that it will meet its renewable energy target.

This is an input to the projection, not an output.

It's honestly very hard to see how this will happen.

The parliamentary year is done, which means the blog is down until it returns on Feb 3. Thank you to everyone who has joined this little project - it has meant the world to have your support. Please - take care of you. It's only going to get more unhinged next year x

Have we reached peak dysfunction?! The NACC handed $1.1M to MA Services - the firm running a Nauru security operation linked with the Finks bikie gang. They're also guarding the ACIC who are literally tasked with taking down bikie gangs🤯

NEW: With less than two weeks to go, we still don't know if all of the tech platforms listed as being in the ban are going to comply.

Twitch and Kick have both confirmed to Crikey that they will. But there's still two who won't say:

Wow I am blown away by this new data on Australia's climate views

Highest levels of outright science denial since 2009. Highest level of 'gov't is doing too much' (!!!)

And more people afraid of 'self aware AI' than climate.

What a nightmare set of results
