So, fun fact: licensors are notoriously protective of their brands, and will take literal months at times to ensure that every single aspect of a title is being presented properly. You can't even SNEEZE without telling the licensor.

so for the past handful of months, i've been developing my very own 3d game engine for my future game projects, from the ground up in raw C++

Anime has largely been my primary source of work, but this past month my anime captioning work was nearly non-existent (in large part due to AI). I'd have not made rent if not for the help of content creators who valued this accessibility work & wanted the best for their videos & audience.

so there are rules/policies around how game credits work. there need to be, because in a large organization, fair rules are how people can stay aligned and unified towards a common goal. i get that.

This is another not-often considered aspect of using AI closed captions instead of human-made captions. It's not just the work of a caption editor that disappears. The work of the ADR adaptation as it was originally written by the English script writer can effectively be erased by AI captions.
That part. I adapted or supervised the dub scripts for some of these titles, so this feels especially injurious.
