this might be considered uncharitable, but when it comes to Dr. Who Levine thinks his own internal headcanon should replace everything else, and he is angry he never became a showrunner. The Dr. Who that exists in his head not in reality is the one , TRUE, Dr. Who in his eyes.

3/ I've worked hard on myself to identify when i have embraced that "power = male identity" in my past. Its often so ingrained in male existence, it becomes unnoticable. And to reject and throw off that masculine shell is something i have to work at constantly.

2/ The masculine shell is a repression of our actual selves ; instead male self-image often projects power AS - and indistinguishable from - male identity.

And that isn't limited to black men, but affects male identity no matter the skin.
