Looking ahead to what promises to be an expensive October, and thought I'd try to get ahead of it

Not an emergency yet, but it will be

😬

Please help if you can, even if it's only because you like my butt & wanna keep seeing it 😛💖

"You make the best of it all and hope you can help make it a little better for the gurl after you."

- Miss Major, 2023 💔
One of the things I hear with some younger trans people I know is they feel, "I'm gonna get this surgery, and I'm gonna learn that way of speaking, and I'm gonna be done." You're never done. If you're a straight, cisgender person, you're never done. Things are always happening that have the potential to change you. So all I am today is not who I'm gonna be tomorrow, because of the things that happened to me today and later tonight. People forget that. "Oh, after I transition, I'm gonna be through." Well, good luck with that. 'Cause if you're through, then it's time to leave, you know, and I don't wanna go anywhere yet.
I'm in my seventies. Why didn't I stop? Number one is community. My gurls. I've had moments of thinking about stopping, but I didn't. I made sure I would step back, reju- venate myself, and then got back out there, and that's how you make a way. Our stories are not all the same, but the destination is: to get some place where we have some peace and harmony, and we can be at ease with ourselves and the people around us. You make the best of it all and hope you can help make it a little better for the gurl after you.

Only slightly more hinged:

Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein as an open letter to all parents, saying basically "Love your children for real or you'll fuck up the whole world."

Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat

Yeah... I'd love a reveal in like, a penultimate episode, where it comes out that God is just some shit Adam made up to justify his horribleness
samanthaduke.bsky.social
That's awesome. I kinda love the way God hasn't ever made an appearance in her world. Like saying something without saying it 😉

Oh fuck

I forgot about Stevie Wonder singing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" with no band on the 2010 Hope for Haiti special

Didn't like that song at all, but he made it a favorite for me

I think Heaven in this series is the kind of place where all the good little gays who lived in denial go — a hell that shines with the glory of a God who doesn't love you

In the spirit of @sophianyx.bsky.social's question about favorite cover tunes, I feel it's appropriate to share this

True, I made it

But I defy you to say you like the original better with a straight face

True

I've loved Bob Dylan for 40+ uninterrupted years, and Hendrix obviously 1000000% ✨️owns✨️ this song like Aretha owns "Respect"

Ooooo that's a great one 💖

First time I heard it I didn't love how they cut half the bridge, but it was easy to look past that for literally everything else about it

One of my weirdest regrets is that I never ever went to a rave, ate a bunch of drugs, and danced til I couldn't feel my legs, all before I got old and broken

Raves weren't a thing where I grew up, and I've still never been to one

I mean, I'm no more a fan of the Nuge than I am of Mid Rock (he's middle aged, we can stop calling him Kid), but he does have the upper hand of the two when it comes to music... if barely lol

If you've got Nuge stories tho, i have time & ears for it 🤭

I'd list some covers I've recorded that I'm truly proud of, but that's not what this is for 😉

Otis Redding & Trent Reznor have this thing in common, that they both wrote legendary songs that were made legendary as covers, and have both said those songs belong to better performers now ❤️
