I never had to enable Low Power Mode on my iPhone until today, so I’m not entirely sure what it does, but from what I can tell, it looks like my screen dimmed a little bit, and the adaptive refresh rate is disabled and pretty much capped at 60 Hz refresh rate.

2 hours later, no change in battery %.
Enabling Low Power Mode on my iPhone seems to be doing the trick in retaining battery life. For now.

Halo is coming to PS5?

I feel like my inner child is crying tears of joy right now.

Absolutely wild. Like seeing Mario Party on PlayStation.

“According to a 2019 USDA report, every dollar in new SNAP benefits increases GDP by $1.50 in a weak economy.”

“SNAP benefits are one of the fastest, most effective forms of economic stimulus because they get money into the economy quickly during a recession.”

Why the fuck is ADHD called "attention deficit hyperactivity disorder" when it's very clearly a "conciousness astral projects itself into outer space the exact moment something very important was explained syndrome".
Every iOS update feels like I'm getting fucked by Apple. Not in a good way, either.
I've never heard about a phone's hardware completely failing by itself. To the point it becomes unrecoverable. From drops, sure. By itself, while running normal tasks? Never. Until just a few days ago.

At the rate that my phone's dying, I'm concerned that my phone will eventually follow suit.
Apple, what the fuck did you do? Why is liquid glass trash?
This was something I came across when using Android. Before iOS 26, I never had a problem with my iPhone's battery life and performance, not even at 3 years old. All of a sudden, there's overheating, battery drain in standby, my partner's phone completely crapping out after the update...
I can't really speak for macOS 26, as I use a desktop, but I can speak for iOS 26. I think something heavy's constantly running in the background, something that constantly drains the phone's battery, something that's straining the internal components in older iPhones.
I FUCKING HATE LOOKING AT IT ON MY GODDAMN COMPUTER, TOO.
Why'd you have to go and ruin something that wasn't broken? The old iOS was working fine. iOS 26 is toasting my phone, it completely fried my partner's phone that they had to replace it with the latest iPhone, and everyone I know who uses an iPhone fucking despises liquid glass.
I don't know what the fuck is going on. I just know that my battery's dying a LOT faster after updating to liquid glass. I'm a VERY light user, my phone used to be a 2-day plus battery, and now I'm lucky if it holds a charge for over 24 hours.
Yet another post regarding Apple's liquid glass design:

In the 3 years since I started using my iPhone 13, rarely would the battery deplete overnight. Actually, it's never something that happened. I would lose maybe 2-3%.

Ever since the liquid glass update, I would lose 10%. Today was 20%.

When there are vocal calls for replacing baseball umpires with video robots, it is slightly amusing to me they didn't experiment with replacing the lead person calling balls & strikes in the courtroom first or was *that* too terrifying

Watched this and laughed so hard I cried.
No correct aspect ratio upload to be found on YouTube, and I could be more rigorous about my editing, but I genuinely think this is some of the funniest 106 seconds in comedy history, and definitely in my top five Simpsons jokes.

Americans want to watch charismatic people solve moderately difficult problems on a weekly basis. That’s it. And a group of fomo execs and techbros who don’t watch TV drove one of the most profitable industries in the US off a cliff rather than accept that.
Look what happenes when a TV show releases every year, with more than 8 episodes a season.

I know I'm always banging on about this, but food banks can do so much more with your donation if you give money rather than food itself.
food banks have already been under pressure over the past several years, and with SNAP benefits expiring they're going to be the only safety net for a lot of people

please donate what you can. $100 can feed several families for a month because of the discounts and purchasing power they have

"controversial tattoo" is doing some heavy lifting here, like saying Adolf's "controversial" memoir or "controversial" gas chambers for the "controversial" solution to the Jewish Question

It's a nazi tattoo. Campaign's response or the tattoo's cont'd existence is the actually "controversial" part.

The only truly ethical response that a self-described artist can make. Anything else is a betrayal of one's colleagues.
“I am not interested, nor will I ever be interested. I'm 61, and I hope to be able to remain uninterested in using it at all until I croak. ... The other day, somebody wrote me an email, said, ‘What is your stance on AI?’ And my answer was very short. I said, ‘I'd rather die.’” 🫡
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro says 'I'd rather die' than use generative AI
Del Toro's new Frankenstein adaption reimagines Mary Shelley's 1818 Gothic novel. Frankenstein was like a tech bro: "creating something without considering the consequences," he explains.

i feel like any conversation about how much games should or shouldn’t cost is incomplete and maybe even pointless without acknowledgement that all but like 27 people in America are paid less than they should be
