Democrats would be crazy not to make this comment super-famous tomorrow when the Senate debates health care. Republicans don’t want you to be cared for as a patient when you’re sick. They think of you as a “consumer”—and tough luck if you don’t have the money for the care you need.

Of all the things the US has chosen to do differently than the rest of the world, I think this may be the dumbest. You'd have trouble finding any urban neighborhood in Europe or Latin America without a plaza. It's just so basic. And yet the US has virtually none! No public space, no public.
Every neighborhood needs a leafy pedestrian plaza—a place to meet friends, grab a bite, or just relax.

Genuinely shocked I only played four hours of GTA 3 this year. I've been slowly trying to max out the in-game money doing only taxi missions for almost ten years now. I'm very close, but I just do it on a whim sometimes, often during very long phone calls or while listening to podcasts.

the issue here, especially with TCM, is more than half of its programming came from the Turner, and later WB, library. If you remove the network from the library, how is it going to afford to license 100% of its programming?
I just heard from someone at Netflix. TCM is apparently going with the other linear networks to Discovery Global.
