America's network of democratic alliances was a jewel. Never before had a great power relied on cultivating voluntary relationships, leading to the richest, most powerful country in history, and benefitting the world relative to the alternative.

Then America decided to throw it away. And for what?

#NoKings seems so long ago
His poll numbers are tanking. Last month's #NoKings was the biggest protest in US history.

And that was before the poop video, the Gatsby party, razing the East Wing, bailing out Argentina, starving SNAP recipients, ruining air travel, and Tuesday's mortifying (for him) election.

Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed

To recap: Jeffrey Epstein offered a NY Times reporter photos taken in Epstein's kitchen of Donald Trump and girls in bikinis *and* implored the NYT reporter to put this information in the public discourse in 2015

What did the NY Times editors know about this offer?

So this was known in 2015 and basically swallowed...

So had this reporter and a "newspaper of record" actually been doing their jobs, we might have avoided Trump v1 and Trump v2

They can F all the way off!
Not to mention a foul reference to his 20 year old girlfriend that he then “gave” to Donald.

If this was a hoax, wouldn’t releasing the full Epstein files to the public exonerate Trump? If he had nothing to hide, why would Trump be working so hard to prevent its release?

It’s really kind of weird to have a putative constitutional democracy that specifically bans the exact thing the President is doing right now—the facts are not in dispute—and just be like, “whelp, guess it can’t be enforced!”

What was the damn point of the shutdown? People missed paychecks, families went without SNAP, and Democrats walked away with nothing.

This isn’t about moderates versus the far left. It’s about who’s actually fighting for people who are struggling.
