A miracle happened to me tonight.

At the Emeryville Amtrak station to head to Portland and the train is already pulling away from the station as I approach it with my bags. Knowing a lost cause as I watch it speed away, I dejectedly head back to station, only to find the train had stopped for me!😎

Roth in an ensemble in an R rated action comedy muppet flick written by Tarantino is something I’d see.
Wouldn’t let him direct tho. He’d agonize over doing something in his muppet movie that’s never been done in any muppet movie & ruin it. Him writing is looser & funnier, less spectacle more focus.
Tarantino Trek Film sounds like the sort of idea that a person who leaps to his feet yelling "Eureka! Eli Roth Muppet Movie!" would come up with
I’m sincerely glad his Star Trek movie never happened. And that’s such a weird thing to even say but the collision between his worst fans and trek’s worst fans? Like reeses’ but it’s lint and axe body spray not chocolate and peanut butter

As a chef I get asked constantly: what is your favorite thing to cook?

My answer: whatever I’m getting paid to cook.
What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!

1. Our Song
2. Bad Blood
3. You Belong with Me
4. I Know Places
5. Wonderland

This may have been the hardest one of these I can think that I’ve ever done.

And I don’t even known most of her catalog past ‘Lover’.
in no particular order

1. ivy
2. would've, could've, should've
3. the black dog
4. wonderland
5. epiphany
fuck nudes, show me your favorite Taylor Swift songs

You’re right about this & PDX.
I am in the Bay presently, & riding my board around here w/ the waymo cars is a challenge for me & the bicyclists around me, but even more so the passengers in the Waymo! The cars are better at yeidlig than peeps, but they are too good at it & sometimes wait too long.
also, i think waymo's safety has to be extremely heavily caveated (and, to be fair, i think waymo does okay at this) - it's very difficult to see how they could ever operate in portland, for example, so while it's an interesting and novel technology, it's not even close to universally applicable

In my aborted documentary, all of the Trumpers that I interview on film are convinced that undocumented people get $2500/ mnth from the government plus free apartments, phones, and private school vouchers for their kids. They can not be unconvinced on this, no matter the evidence.

I’m not hip on UK politics, but I am hip to rock n roll history.

How is what Labour is proposing in the UK for immigrants any different that what Clapton got in trouble for about Enoch Powell all those years ago?

This Barro bro makes me so 😡!
I bet I scored higher on every standardized test we’ve ever taken jn common, I’ve managed orgs w 100s of ppl, & you cldnt find 1 who would say a negative word about me, yet bc I was born poor & blk, I don’t get to write op-eds, but slowly bleed to death of gum disease.
This guy is a dunce. Seriously. Imagine believing this. And I absolutely want to see Josh Barro take a timed test where he doesn't the internet or his parents around to help him with the answers.

Olberman, you’re getting slow in your old age. You should be deep into calling this quisling Megyn Skellytor or something fit for her true nature by now. Feel free to hurl it at her as your own. She deserves it, the monster.
I still call her Rachetness ‘Coultergiest’ to this day, thanks to you sir.😎
The other problem with the resurfacing of the old tapes in which Megyn Kelly 2018 was universally aghast at child rape rather than rationalizing much of it now is...it reminds us that there's something amiss with her new "look"

Aubrey Plaza, natch.
I am mentally casting this scene of Boebert getting cornered in the Situation Room by Patel, Bondi, etc., and wondering which actress could get an Oscar nomination for portraying this realization.
I am deliriously laughing at the image of Boebert facing dawning revelation that she's actually found the pedophile elite conspiracy ring and that she's standing right in the middle of it

Met this dude Scott Weiner out n about a few years back before he was a state senator and he’s the real deal!
Got a new story up, a profile of CA state senator and congressional candidate Scott Wiener, and a whole bunch of state housing politics and policy—to me, the totalizing political issue right now. Get people cheap housing near jobs and you fix *a lot*. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
Scott Wiener defeated California’s NIMBYs. Can he fix America’s housing crisis?
By running for Nancy Pelosi's House seat, he's putting the abundance theory to the test.

Spent 9 hrs in line at a food bank in Oakland yesterday. Ended up with just 3 soft avocados and a loaf of sprouted grain bread. Pretty much everyone behind me (dozens of people) ended up with just the bread and no avocados.
It’s a madhouse out there!

Heh this is the first time in my life (at 46!) that I’m seeing one of my uncles work.

Uncle Ron was at our house all the time growing up. I didn’t know he was a famous pro wrestler until I was at university and someone mentioned he was their favorite wrestler ever.

Not my real uncle of course…🤣😎

Yesterday made chicken & rice stew for 8 for $8 thanks to Bay Area Co-ops with bulk dry goods & spices +$5 chickens from Costco.

Today I am making a $9 tuna noodle casserole for 8.

There are ICE vehicles at North Portland (St. John) schools right now, apparently intending to nab parents when they come to pick up kids.

If you can, please go to:

- Cesar Chavez School
