YES! I was just having a discussion about this with my husband. people call Taylor "cringe" because she's not afraid of being her authentic self and that genuine energy is why her fan base is so big. real people can relate to her! people who are "never cringe" are so poised and perfect and BORING.

I've been a swiftie since 2006. I held out hope through her social media blackout. I've been loyal to this fandom through it all. The haters can reach until their arms break but they can't convince me Taylor isn't a good fucking person. they can stay miserable and hateful and I'll stay a swiftie.

A lot of the “political” backlash against Taylor with this album cycle is just people writing fanfiction and fighting ghosts because they desperately yearn for her to be a villain. Which is strange considering the amount of actual villains there are to worry about.
