Even though I've successfully had the surgery, due to impending bills and the goal not having been met, I'll be leaving it up for the foreseeable future. But as far as recovery, things are going great!

I am begging the mainstream media to talk less about the East Wing & more about the loss of SNAP funding for the next few days.

The East Wing is gone. We can’t change that.

We *can* help people prepare for the loss of SNAP.

my fave creature designs from a few months ago

Digital painting of a reptilian monster called "Goddess of Serene Shores". It's almost crocodilian in body-type, but with a longer torso, tail, and neck. Its head is similar to a carnivorous therapod, or traditional skull designs of dragons, and its throat sack can expand just a bit. There are sails/fins on its back, its underside, and along the ridges of its tail. Its coloration is greatly inspired by Mandarinfish, with ornate patterns of oranges, greens and blues.

Its head, neck and upper torso is mostly white, it has a long yellow bill with sharp tips similar to a snapping turtle, a crest on top of its top beak, and an expandable pouch on its throat, similar to a pelican. There is a voluminous pouch of expandable sac around its neck and chest, similar to a Frigatebird, but it seems more decorative than functional. Its lower torso is a black color, with strong bird legs, that have blue webbed feet, similar to the bird Booby. Its tail is long, with fins running on its side, and on its tips.

It has wings that are more webbed than they are feathered, with a protruding thumb similar to a bat's, and three noticeable digits that are flat than they are wiry. It seems this creature is more reptilian and hydrodynamic, than it is avian and capable of flight.

The creature has extremely long arms and legs that have dexterous digits and sharp claws, and it has a giant whip-like tail with a spiky end.

Its body is mostly black in coloration, its arms and half of its tail a mid-tone yellow. Its head and belly are a blaring red, with its expanding throat having peculiar patterns that are vibrant and striking, almost like they're emulating eyes.

I'm also an ace nsfw artist. Censorship is a HUGE problem no matter the sexuality of the people around, allo or ace. People like to play the moral high ground when it comes to kinks they don't approve of without realizing that policing fictitious content takes resources away from helping REAL people

It especially frustrates me b/c I'm gray-asexual and I am also an adult artist and writer. This stuff DOES affect us & acting otherwise erases much of the ace spectrum & reinforces the stereotype we're all puritanical prudes.

In any case, something not affecting you doesn't mean one shouldn't care.

It saddens me greatly that I have seen people say "im asexual so it doesn't matter to me" about the rise in censorship- not exclusive to bsky btw; it does matter to you. Your sexual orientation does not give you moral high ground. I dont know how to explain you should care about other people.

For those that have never had to deal with bluesky mod: A lot of my art features nudity that's not at all sexual but celebrates bodies. Every single time it gets marked by auto mod as Pornographic. Sometimes they're not even nude. I have to appeal the label wait sometimes WEEKS to maybe get it fixed

For nsfw artists, sex workers, and others, the best things you can do is provide either A: Financial support or B: Feedback to Bluesky regarding policy changes where their totally not biased moderation team gets to determine what visuals are "consensual"

That gets nasty FAST.

Look, if you WANT to take a social media break for a week, that's perfectly reasonable to do for your own mental health. I know many within the Jewish community will be too busy with High Holidays to be overly online barring other barriers to High Holidays.
