At least elsewhere I think I could maybe do some good educating people on how to protect themselves and think critically about new technology. Not enable tech companies to steal their data by tricking people into handing it over willingly.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. My sister had to deal with this sort of thing regarding her high blood pressure & ended up with her BP being so high she could have had a stroke. She was gaslit about it being related to her medication... turned out it was exactly that. Shouldn't be this way.
